Course Description

Circular 230 determines who can practice before the Internal Revenue Service and the ethical responsibilities (prohibitions and duties) regarding that practice.  However, some activities, such as preparing returns, are not subject to Circular 230.  This program will teach you the ins and outs of Circular 230 so that you can stay out of trouble.

  • Identify who may practice before the IRS

  • Identify disciplinary proceedings and sanctions

  • Evaluate the reasonableness standard for opinions

  • Give examples of best practices
