Bill Sheridan is a knowledge hunter, content curator, and lifelong learner. As chief communications officer for the Maryland Association of CPAs, he has created, co-written, and maintained their acclaimed blog, CPA Success; produces their weekly podcast, CPA Spotlight; and created a series of electronic newsletters that provide MACPA members with monthly headlines and resources in four subject areas (taxation, technology, resources for CPA firms, and resources for CPAs in business and industry). Additionally, he’s managed the association’s member communications and numerous social networks.

Bill speaks regularly at national conferences on the future of the accounting and finance profession, the strategic uses of social media, and the evolution of communication, collaboration, and education. He delivers frequent presentations on behalf of the Business Learning Institute and is a certified Insights to Action strategic facilitator.

Bill oversees content for both MACPA's Web site and its bimonthly member magazine, the Statement. His articles about MACPA and the CPA profession have appeared in Association Management and SmartCEO magazines and have been distributed nationally by the American Institute of CPAs.

Bill is a graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo. He earned the Certified Association Executive designation from the American Society of Association Executives in 2010, and the Certified Personal Trainer designation from the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2017. 

He earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation in 2010. Before joining the MACPA, Bill spent more than a decade as both a print and online journalist. He also is a freelance writer and holds a bachelor's degree in communication from the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Our members represent sole practitioners who work with CPAs on Main Street, Big 4 accounting firms working internationally, CPAs serving as CFOs of public and private companies, controllers, accounting staff, educators, and government finance professionals.
